Coffee Break TV is going live

All the usual lessons carry on exactly as they are. What's new is that regular live sessions are being added this month, beginning with a translation challenge in each language. Mark presents, you post your answers in the chat, and there will be feedback while the session is running.

Two on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, all included in your Coffee Break TV membership. Times are UK time, with New York, San Francisco and Melbourne underneath. Each session stays on Coffee Break TV as a replay afterwards, but the chat only happens live.

How a live session works

If you've never joined a live broadcast before, here's the short version.

A broadcast, not a video call

Nobody can see or hear you

This isn't a Zoom call. Your camera and microphone stay off. You open Coffee Break TV at the time, the session plays like any other video, and you watch and join in from wherever you are.

Join in through the chat

Your answers and questions, live

The chat runs alongside the video. Post your translations, ask anything that comes up, and Mark responds as the session goes. It's interactive from the first minute.

Replay later, chat live

Register, then turn up live

Registration isn't compulsory but it's a good idea. Click “I'll be there” on the session page and you're set up before the broadcast starts. Can't make the time? The replay will be on Coffee Break TV afterwards, though you'll need to be there live to join in on the chat.

On a September trial?

These live lessons are included in your trial. Register for the one in your language and come along. It's the best way to see what Coffee Break TV feels like when it's live.

This is just the start

Live sessions are becoming a regular part of Coffee Break TV. The next broadcasts will feature some of the Coffee Break tutors too, so keep an eye on the Live Lessons section on the site and in the app.
